The therapist will ask for your latest medical records/discharge summary and medications.
An initial assessment will be done by the therapist.
The following may be discussed
Your medical history.
Your current problems/complaints.
Your goals with physiotherapy.
Medications, tests, and procedures related to your health.
Your daily routine/timetable at home.
The Physiotherapist will then perform the objective evaluation and various tests.
c. Will I get treatment right from the first visit?
After a thorough initial assessment, the therapist will formulate a list of problems you are having, and how to treat those problems.
A short term and long-term goal is then set with the patient's/caregiver's input.
A comprehensive plan of frequency of visits, how many weeks you will need therapy, home exercise program and patient education etc. is formulated with input from you, your primary caregiver (family member) and your therapist.
d. How long will each treatment last?
Typically, each session may last from 45 minutes to 75 minutes.
e. How many visits will I need?
This is highly variable. You may need one visit or you may need months of care. It depends on your diagnosis, the severity of your impairments, your past medical history, your follow up with the home exercise program etc. You will be re-evaluated on a regular basis and when you see your doctor, we will provide you with a progress report with our recommendations.
f. How do I make payment and what are your cancellation policies?
You can pay by either cash, cheque or bank transfers after each visit by the Physio.
Please call to cancel appointment at least 48 hours in advance.
